Tansy’s Pantry, a vegan café in Godshill, is to close in September it has been announced.
It said the decision has been taken to close the much-loved Godshill-based business at the end of the summer, with the last day of operations scheduled for 4th September.
The business used to be based on a truck and then a double-decker bus before opening up permanent premises at Church Hollow in Godshill.
A post on the Tansy’s Pantry Facebook page has read:
“Both Rob and I (Jessica) would like to sincerely thank everyone over the last 3 years for your custom and kindness. We hope that you continue to support us in our final few months as we deliver our last menu. And once we’re gone, we hope you carry on backing Peach, Craft, Grind No.9 and The Bay in everything they do.”
As a result of the impending closure, the Pantry will no longer issue gift vouchers, and all existing vouchers must be redeemed before 31st August 2023.
Rob and Jessica have said that they are inviting offers to buy the business, and/or the restaurant contents in totality or individually. Anyone who is interested should contact [email protected].

The key to success is to cater for the many not just the few
I suppose that is why Woolworths, C& A, Debenhams, BHS, and other shops that cater to many are such resounding successes.
Don’t remember any of those trying to be a hit in Godshill either
woolworths etc became a victim of the change to online shopping and bad management.
They were destroyed by greedy capitalists
ok boomer.
Really sad to hear this news. They are the best restaurant on the Island. We will miss the mushroom wellington at christmas x Best wishes to you both for the future xx
Completely agree i am not a vegan but i have never tasted better food anywhere on the Island
If you don’t offer what people want to buy, at a price they are prepared to pay, then you don’t have a business.
