Vectis RFC’s young players delivered standout performances across multiple festivals, showcasing teamwork, resilience and skill ahead of a major Isle of Wight rugby celebration.
Vectis RFC’s youth sides produced an impressive set of results over the weekend, with strong displays across all age groups highlighting the club’s continued growth and depth.
Under 8s showed excellent defensive organisation at Worthing, consistently forcing turnovers while developing their passing game against tough opposition.
Under 9s delivered arguably their best performances of the season, including a hard-fought draw against touring Welsh side Caerleon, earning praise from their opponents.
Under 10s enjoyed a dominant outing, winning six of their seven matches, with every player getting on the scoresheet in a clear demonstration of teamwork and attacking confidence.
Under 12 Boys impressed in a competitive round-robin tournament, securing a strong opening win before showing resilience against high-quality opposition.
Under 12 Girls (Wolf Cubs) rounded off their season with a spirited performance at Ventnor RFC, underlining their progress in both attack and defence.
ISLE OF WIGHT RUGBY FESTIVAL SET FOR BIG WEEKEND
Vectis RFC will host teams from across the UK for a 2-day festival of youth rugby, live entertainment and community celebration at Medina.
The festival takes place on Saturday 2nd May and Sunday 3rd May and promises to be one of the highlights of the Island’s sporting calendar.
Alongside a packed schedule of matches, visitors can enjoy live music, a range of food vendors and a fully stocked bar, creating a lively and family-friendly atmosphere.
