The shortlist for the 2024 Audio and Radio Industry Awards (ARIAS) has been revealed with Vectis Radio being nominated for the second consecutive year in the Community Station of The Year category. In 2023, Vectis Radio won Gold, marking the first time the award was given out by the Radio Academy. The Vectis Radio Directors commented: Ian Mac has said:
“It is a real honour and a testament to the station’s consistency and growth, we have an amazing team. The ARIAS are the very top UK audio and radio awards presented annually to recognise, honour and reward outstanding shows and the teams behind them. Judged by over 200 senior audio and radio practitioners, drawn from all sectors of the industry, it is a huge accolade to be nominated. “I am proud that Vectis Radio has this nomination, it is hugely significant that we are recognised nationally amidst a thriving community radio industry. I wish good luck to all the nominees in this and the other categories; see you in London in May.”
Kelvin Currie, has said:
“Last year’s award knocked me out, to be on a stage in front of so many famous household names in the radio industry and accept an award for our relatively small station was a surreal experience. To be nominated again is such an honour.”
The ARIAS are open to all UK-based content creators who are members of The Radio Academy. The awards evening is scheduled for Tuesday 7th May in London.

Well done Vectis Radio and Ian and Kelvin and all the other presenters for all you do. The 4P’s work you do are changing peoples lives for the better and not surprised you have been nominated – you are all stars.
