Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for the public’s help in locating 77-year-old Celia Vosper, who has gone missing from the Freshwater area in the West Wight.
Celia was last seen at around 14:30 this afternoon (Tuesday).
Since she has been reported missing officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries to try and locate her, but these have not proven successful.
Now, as darkness falls, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is urning to the public for assistance.
Celia is described as being white, around 5ft 5ins tall, of average build with short stone grey hair. It is believed she is likely to be wearing a blue jacket and black trousers.

UPDATE @ 21:08 – The search has been scaled up significantly with Coastguard Rescue Teams from The Needles and Ventnor called in to assist ongoing efforts to locate Celia.
Coastguard Officers have met with Police at Fort Victoria Country Park on the outskirts of Yarmouth and have commenced a shoreline search.
In the meantime, Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 175 from Lee-on-Solent is conducting an aerial sweep of the coastline between Yarmouth and The Needles.
Yarmouth RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat has launched too and is currently located in the Western Solent, off Colwell.
UPDATE @ 22:00 – WightSAR – the Island’s voluntary lowland search and rescue team – have been requested to assemble to search further inland.
They’ve set up a rendezvous point at Golden Hill Fort.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY – Celia Vosper remains missing with enquires continuing to locate her.
Overnight the search was hindered by the weather conditions and was suspended for a time, but is expected to resume this morning.
UPDATE THURSDAY – A body has been found in the search for Celia Vosper, Police have confirmed.
