UNCONSCIOUS WOMAN ON HOUSEBOAT AT THE FOLLY RESCUED BY LIFEBOAT

A woman who became unconscious aboard a houseboat led to a dash up the River Medina by Cowes RNLI lifeboat last night (Tuesday).  The houseboat was moored alongside a mid-river pontoon off The Folly, Whippingham. After launching at 17:15, the lifeboat approached the houseboat and transferred the woman on a stretcher to The Folly; there an ambulance was waiting to take her to St Mary’s Hospital. The lifeboat returned to the station just before 20:30. Among the four crew, taking part in his first ‘shout’, was Ned Cook.
