AS Island Echo reported on Saturday, Police are investigating a fire at three unoccupied homes in East Cowes.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary have arrested two young boys aged 12 and 13, who were detained by detectives on Sunday. They were questioned on suspicion of arson and bailed until July 19 pending further enquiries.
The fire at the homes at a new development on Church Path started around 17.30 on Saturday and was extinguished at around 18:45.
Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses.
Detective Sergeant John Walton from Newport CID said: “We’re treating the fire as arson.
“Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhoods team have been conducting house-to-house enquiries in the area and we’ve made two arrests.
“I’d still like to hear from anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area of Church Path and Old Road around the time of the fire.”
