A power cut has hit businesses and premises in some South Wight areas of the Island this evening (Tuesday).
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are aware of a fault that has affected some homes in and around Godshill, Sandford, Apse Heath, Wroxall & Shanklin.
Power went off at 18:29 and power is expected to be restored by 21:30 this evening.
A spokesperson for SSEN has said:
“We’re sorry for the loss of supply.
“We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed.
“We are working hard to get the power back on as quickly as we can.
“If you need more information, please call us on 105 or send us a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity) and quote reference ‘GN2034′”
A seperate power cut occured earlier this afternoon at 15:48 in the centre of Ventnor affecting 4 postcode areas.
SSEN are expecting the power to be restored by midnight tonight.
The affected postcodes for the Ventnor powercut can be seen below – incident reference ‘GN1750’.
