3 people have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a man in his 50s was seriously assaulted at a property in Ryde last night (Friday).
Police were called at 20:46 to reports that a male had been attacked at an address on The Strand.
Officers responded to the scene and located a man in his 50s with injuries to his head and face.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a 42-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman have all been arrested in connection with the incident.
The trio are being held in custody at Newport Police Station on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Police have remained at the property overnight with forensic investigators called in to examine the crime scene this morning (Saturday).
UPDATE SUNDAY – 28-year-old Jack Taylor has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been remanded to appear before Magistrates.
