28-year-old Jack Taylor has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a man in his 50s was attacked at a property in Ryde on Friday night.
Police were called at 20:46 to reports that a male had been seriously assaulted at an address on The Strand, as first reported by Island Echo.
The victim suffered injuries to his head and face.
A total of 3 people – a 42-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman – were all arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The Crown Prosecution Service has now authorised a charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent against 28-year-old Jack Taylor, of The Strand.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday).
The other 2 individuals arrested in connection with Friday’s incident have been released with no further action to be taken against them.
