This year’s community quiz at Trinity Theatre – run by Cowes Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (CAODS) – was for the benefit of Alzheimer Café and raised a respectable £600.
The annual event – hosted by quiz masters Pete and Tracy Asher – has been running for several years and has raised many thousands of pounds for local charities.
This year, thanks to everyone who attended, £600 was raised for Alzheimer Café.
Alzheimer Café is a charity which runs 6 cafes across the Island providing informal education about dementia, guidance and signposting to other services. They welcome people with dementia, their families, carers, professionals and anyone with an interest in dementia.
The charity has recently taken over the lease for Parklands in Cowes which will become a Dementia Centre for the Island which will be open daily and provide services, help and information.
The building needs refurbishment so the charity is looking for help with any donations and for volunteers.
