A doctor at St Mary’s Hospital is jubilant after completing last weekend’s London Marathon in a very respectable time of 2 hours 45 minutes – despite it being only his second-ever marathon. 29-year-old Keaan Amin, who runs for Ryde Harriers, only took up running 5 years ago as a way to relieve stress whilst studying medicine at university. Despite this, he put in an impressive sub-3-hour time across the 26.2-mile route, weaving its way through central London. In a time of 2hr 45min 26sec, Keaan’s efforts placed him 1222nd overall and 860th in the 18-39 category.

I thought hospital doctors were over massively overworked & underpaid? clearly not if they can find the time to train for a marathon whilst collecting their huge pay rise!
What a nonsensical notion, lol.
I have weeks at work (engineering) where due to incidents I work 12h days. Those are not normal and are totally classified as overtime that should be mitigated ASAP or over long period of time we risk staff exhaustion and errors where people could die if we make mistakes (blow up and die horribly in fire specifically).
I still put in time to train normally even after those 12h of work.
And what, are you then telling me I’m not allowed to say that 12h day is overworking and dangerous if I manage to keep up with my health after work hours?
PS
All salaries in UK are underpaid. Same position in US can earn you 2-3x more. Normalising low wages is not in your best interest.
What on earth are you talking about, do you think people shouldn’t have any time off work? You’d better stop writing on this site and get to work in that case.
Well done on your fantastic achievement Keaan. That is an amazing time.
