Southern Vectis has launched a call for nominations from local good causes to become the bus operator’s official corporate charity for 2026 and 2027.
The company says it wants to hear from well-established and active Isle of Wight charities that make a positive difference within their communities, with the aim of forming a meaningful two-year partnership.
Nikki Honer, Head of Communications at Southern Vectis, has said:
“We are keen to hear from well-established and active charities about how they benefit those living within the local community, and what a two-year partnership with Southern Vectis could mean to them.
“This is our opportunity to form a meaningful partnership with a local charity over the next two years, when we will do everything we can to raise awareness and funds for the chosen good cause.
“It is important to us that we support local organisations doing vital work to help those living within the communities where we operate, and we feel this is an excellent way to do that.”
Charities based on the Isle of Wight are being invited to nominate themselves via the Southern Vectis website. Once the nomination period closes, staff members will vote to select the winning charity, which will be announced in January.
The chosen corporate charity will receive 2 years of partnership and support, including promotion through Southern Vectis communication channels, branded bus advertising, and on-board coverage to help raise awareness. The Southern Vectis team will also take part in fundraising activities, donating all proceeds to the selected cause.
Nikki added:
“With nominations now open, we are looking forward to learning about the work our local charities do to help those living across the Isle of Wight.”
