Southern Vectis is offering free travel for current and veteran military personnel next Sunday (25th June) to mark Isle of Wight Armed Forces Day.
Southern Vectis managing director, Andrew Wickham said:
“People on the Isle of Wight are rightfully proud of our country’s military – as is our team here. As part of this community, we are keen to show our support for servicemen and women.”
“The work our troops have done in the past, and still do now, in unimaginably hostile war zones is incredibly humbling. And we want to recognise their efforts even in this small way to help them travel to events or to see family and friends on Isle of Wight Armed Forces Day.”
“On Sunday 25th June, we welcome all those wearing their military uniform, displaying medals, or showing their military ID card on board our buses, and they may travel for free with us all day.”

I expect they can afford to now they are sitting on a massive pile of cash after literally thousands of festival goers for a ride… Veterans should be able to ride free on all transport, everywhere inside the UK. Period.
