The movie earned a scarlet NC-17 rating, rightfully so, but also garnered heaps of praise.
Chloë Sevigny – The Brown Bunny
Sevigny is a daring and fearless actress, something that she’s made known since her debut in the Larry Clark film – Kids. However, no one would have expected that she would perform a sex act on film, something that she did with her then-boyfriend and director Vincent Gallo. The Brown Bunny may not be a great film, but it’s a notorious one for that scene, alone.
Heath Ledger & Jake Gyllenhaal – Brokeback Mountain
There’s nothing peculiar of having these two heartthrobs in a romance on the big screen, however, things get risqué when they are playing out a love story with each other in a film about their sexual relationship. It really was a brave move for these two actors to star in a same-sex drama at the height of their popularity. Thankfully, the movie is today considered a classic and it’s one of the best LGBTQ movies ever made.
