Residents in East Cowes are being invited to have their say on the future of the town, with a public consultation launched to help decide priorities for future projects, improvements and investment.
East Cowes Town Council has launched its ‘Experience East Cowes’ consultation, encouraging people of all ages to share what they value most about the town and what changes they would like to see.
The feedback gathered will help inform future community projects, activities and investment, with residents being encouraged to highlight areas for improvement and put forward their own ideas.
A community engagement event will take place at East Cowes Town Hall on 24th October between 10:00-14:00.
The event will feature a range of interactive activities, giving residents the chance to discuss local priorities and contribute suggestions for the future of East Cowes.
Young people will also be encouraged to get involved, with dedicated activities including a ‘Mayor for a Day’ initiative designed to ensure children and younger residents have their voices heard.
Those unable to attend the event can still participate by completing a printed survey, available from East Side Curve on York Avenue, or by submitting their views online.
An online consultation survey is available, alongside an interactive map where residents can highlight specific locations and share their ideas.
The consultation is expected to remain open until the second week of November, with councillors also distributing surveys and information throughout the town to encourage participation.
Councillor Tracy Reardon, Mayor of East Cowes, has said:
“This consultation is an opportunity for everyone in East Cowes to have their say on the future of their town.
“Whether you are a long-term resident, a young person, a local business owner, or someone new to the area, we want to hear your views. The more people who participate, the better we can understand the community’s priorities and aspirations.”
