Siblings Kirsty, Sophie and Shannon O’Neil are raising money for an Island charity that helped their family following the death of their brother some 5 years ago.
The threesome ran a full marathon – The New Forest Marathon – on what would have been their brother’s birthday (8th September), some 5 years after he tragically took his life. In their time of need, Alex’s family turned to Island-based charity LBT Global – who provide practical support for British nationals missing, killed or in crisis overseas.
For 3 months they worked tirelessly to help bring their brother home to bury him. LBT still helps the family to this day as they work to find justice for Alex.
The siblings decided to run a full marathon to raise funds for LBT Global on their brother’s 40th Birthday and incredibly they raised £6,055.
An LBT Global spokesperson has said:
“We at LBT Global are incredibly grateful to all the runners and supporters. To a small charity like ours this makes a huge difference, and every penny will be used to support those in the darkest times. Thank you, all of you.”
