Shanklin was filled with music, colour and celebration last night (Wednesday) as the town’s grand carnival procession made its way through the streets, marking another highlight in the Isle of Wight’s summer carnival season.
Dozens of entries took part in the lively event, including themed floats, dance troupes and costumed walkers, all contributing to a fun-filled evening of entertainment.
Organisers from Shanklin Carnival Committee have shared their thanks, saying:
“Shanklin Carnival Committee would like to thank each & everyone of the participants who joined us in our main carnival. Fantastic night!”
The festivities are set to continue this weekend with the town’s illuminated carnival on Saturday (9th August), which will move off at 21:15.
