25-year-old Luke Prato, a dangerous and unbalanced sex offender who tried to drag a woman into a park in Exeter, has been found dead inside his prison cell at HMP Isle of Wight.
HM Prison Service has confirmed the death of the serving inmate, who was jailed for a period of 4 years in March 2020. He was found guilty of sexual assault on the terrified victim, as well as assaulting causing actual bodily harm to the victim’s male friend
Prato was found dead inside his cell by prison officers on Saturday.
It’s thought that the 25-year-old was about to be transferred to Broadmoor Secure Hospital due to his mental health state. Prato had been diagnosed with an anti-social personality disorder and it was known that as a child he discovered his own mother hanged at the family home, according to DevonLive.
A prison service spokesperson has said:
“HMP Isle of Wight prisoner Luke Prato died on November 27.
“The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has been informed.”
