The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has scrambled to assist the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, who were called to the incident alongside Police at around 20:30.
Island Echo understands a male has been rushed to St Mary’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition after being thrown from his large motorcycle.
The road has been closed under a hard closure in both directions and is likely to remain so for several hours. An inner cordon has been put in place.
There is currently no vehicular access in or out of the Park Road estate.
UPDATE @ 22:20 – Investigators from the mainland-based Collision Investigation Unit are now present at Brading and are conducting a detailed examination of the scene to establish the full circumstances of the crash.
UPDATE @ 22:50 – The casualty, a man in his 40s, is currently being flown to Southampton General Hospital by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
The motorcyclist, who was given CPR at the scene of the crash, is thought to have been stabilised enough to allow the helicopter transfer.
The road remains closed.
UPDATE @ 04:30 – Coach Lane, Brading has now reopened to traffic.
