Coastguard Rescue Teams from The Needles and Ventnor are in attendance at an incident at Chilton Chine off Military Road this afternoon (Tuesday).
Officers can be seen at the top of the cliff next to Isle of Wight Pearl, on the west side of Chilton Chine.
Yarmouth RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat has launched and is heading towards the area at 27 knots.
The incident began at around 13:00.
UPDATE @ 14:07 – It has been confirmed that The Needles and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams and Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat are currently carrying out a search for a person potentially cut off by the tide.
The incident is ongoing at this time.
UPDATE @ 15:11 – A man has been found safe and well, bringing the incident to a close.
The individual has confirmed he was on the beach.
