The Isle of Wight Scouts are on the look olut for a new County Commissioner to support and guide the scout leaders and to ensure young people across the Island can access the best and widest range of scouting experiences.
Anthony Roberts has been Isle of Wight Scouts County Commissioner for five years but will be standing down from the role in March 2014, leaving the position open for a new commissioner.
The new County Commissioner will lead Scouting in one of the fastest growing Counties in the UK with over 1,500 Scouts on the Island, and 28% of those Scouts are girls, the highest percentage in the country.
Malcolm Cox, Isle of Wight Scouts’ media development manager, said:
“We’re looking for someone with management skills who can provide leadership, motivation and inspiration to our volunteers.
“As a scout you will become part of the biggest youth movement in the world.”
To find out more and download an application pack, visit the website at www.isleofwightscouts.org.uk or call in to our Newport shop (the old Carphone Warehouse shop, near Laura Ashley on the High Street) on Saturday 14th December between 10:00 and 15:00 where the Island’s scouts will be pleased to answer questions and tell you more about the role of County Commissioner, or other roles within Isle of Wight Scouts.
