Scoot Ferries Ltd, the new Isle of Wight-based ferry company has announced that it will be running a special, scheduled ferry service for this year’s Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week between Cowes and Hamble.
The service will run from Friday 7th August until Sunday 16th August between the south side of Trinity Pontoon in Cowes and Hamble Town Quay. With single tickets costing £15.00 and anytime returns costing £25.00, the first boat will depart from Cowes at 05:30 and run a 30-minute schedule throughout the day. The last sailing from Hamble to Cowes will be at 02:00 hours.
A reduced service will also be in operation on Sunday 16th August to coincide with the start of this year’s Rolex Fastnet Race. Scoot will also be operating a pre-booked daily shuttle service for corporate clients between 09:30 and 12:00 – all enquiries regarding this service should be sent to [email protected].
The full Cowes to Hamble service is timetabled to start full time from May 2016.
In addition, Scoot has also published the timetable for its new Yarmouth to Lymington ferry route this week and confirmed the service will start on Tuesday 1st September 2015.
The company will be operating a regular 30-minute service 7 days a week with the earliest sailing from Yarmouth Town Quay at 04:30 hours and the last service back from Lymington Town Quay being at midnight.
Scoot’s CEO Zoë Ombler said:
“We are delighted to be able to offer regular travellers between the Isle of Wight and Lymington a new, more convenient travel option and as a small operator we promise to listen to the views of all our customers to ensure we’ll always provide a service that fits with their needs wherever possible.
“We’ve already revised our Yarmouth to Lymington timetable following customer feedback and introduced an even earlier start than originally planned, with our first sailing now starting at 4.30am – no more having to travel to the airport the night before to catch that early morning flight!”
Single tickets on the Yarmouth to Lymington route will cost £9.00 and there will also be a 30-day season ticket available at £300. With only 12 seats available initially, peak time sailings will be restricted to pre-booked, season ticket holders only – pre-registration for season tickets opens next week, with priority booking for pre-registered customers from the 17th August and season tickets going on general sale from 18th August. Bikes and well-behaved dogs travel free on all crossings.
