40 dachshunds attended a Christmas Pawty at Star Coffee and Ale House in Ryde last week, raising funds for Dachshund Rescue.
There was a dachshund-related quiz, which was won by Julie Ann Turner.
The best-dressed dachshund was won by the very handsome Rodney in his flashing Christmas jumper.
Teresa Raggett won the guess the weight cake, which was made and donated by Deborah Wall.
Happy Hounds Artisan Bakers sold their healthy handmade dog treats, which proved very popular with Sausages and humans alike.
Organiser Sam Brand has said:
“What an amazing day! Over the course of the day, we had over 40 dachshunds attend with a visit from Mother Paws, as unfortunately Santa Paws was ill on the day.
“We have raised a staggering £700 for the Red Foundation, Dachshund Rescue and – as no one bid for our lovely picture – I will be donating that to The Red Foundation for them to auction/raffle through their Facebook page as they have a wider audience.
“The landlord of the Star Coffee and Ale House gave us the venue for free, and his staff joined in with the fun, wearing their Christmas hats and cuddling lots of the dogs and puppies.”

Watch out. If Bob’s about you could end up with half a sausage dog!
