24-year-old Kieran Thompson has been charged with attempted robbery following an incident in Ryde last month.
Police visited a number of addresses looking for the suspect, who was wanted in connection with the alleged crime that took place on St John’s Hill on 20th May.
Mr Thompson, of George Street, has now been charged with attempted robbery and will appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning (Thursday).
It is reported that at around 21:00 on Wednesday 20th May a man in his 30s was threatened and demands were made for money.
