The collection of rubbish and recycling from properties across the Isle of Wight will continue as normal over the long Easter weekend.
Households should put out their bins as normal on both Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The bulky waste and free re-use collection service is still available over this period also.
The Household Waste and Recycling Centres at Lynnbottom and Afton Marsh will also be operating normal hours, but you must still book your visit to the HWRCS online beforehand by visiting https://www.iow.gov.uk/Residents/Environment-Planning-and-Waste/Waste-and-Recycling/Recycling-Centres/Lynnbottom-HWRC.
There is currently no indication that this restriction, introduced due to the pandemic, will be removed anytime soon.
Island residents are being reminded not to arrive before your booking as you will be turned away and asked to return at your allotted time.
Shame the ‘Waste Management Dept.’ at the IoW Council choose not to do anything about people who PERSISTENTLY leave their bins on the pavement for weeks on end!
Oh, no, that’s right, “we are too busy” to be bothered with ‘minor inconveniences’ to the local Council Tax Payer!

No you dont understand – this is the IOW – Islanders are not happy unless they are moaning or killjoying something, preferably to do with electric scooters or motorcycles or cyclists or fast cars etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. A local 1950’s Island for local 1950’s people………
