A number of vehicles have been involved in a collision at Wootton Common this morning (Tuesday).
The road has been closed at the roundabout junction of Briddlesford Road, Station Road and Whiterails Road.
A Peugeot 206 has crashed into street furniture, flattening a bollard. It’s understood a Ford B-Max has also been involved in the collision.
Police are in attendance and have closed the road.
Southern Vectis say their Route 9 buses are diverting via Fairlee Road until further notice.
Stag Lane Motors are on scene and are currently recovering the vehicles.
The road is expected to re-open shortly.
police are still trying to trace the well known slippery offender Tar Macadam – who has apparently been up to his old tricks again of impersonating a road surface.
the trees have heard the rumours about the incident, although they are only whispering it to each other – in case the grass in the field hears and tells the old bill.
possibly drugs involved as tar macadam has left white lines on the road surface – officers suspect cocaine paint.
police are asking for understanding that they have so many officers on site, as they are trainees and are a bit slower – hence the police slow sign in the foreground.
I noticed how super slippery the roads were the other night, I wasn’t exactly hammering it but was noticeably understeering on a few bends. Starting to feel a bit more sympathy now for drivers who have had otherwise seemingly unexplainable accidents, especially involving one vehicle.
