A taxi has collided into a parked car on the outskirts of Newport tonight (New Year’s Eve).
The small hatchback – thought to be a Peugeot 107 or similar – has been severely damaged in the crash, which occurred on Staplers Road at around 22:30.
Police have attended the scene and have since re-opened the road in both directions.
Island Echo understands the car has been parked in the area between Landscape Lane and the Staplers gyratory for a prolonged period of time.
One reader has reported that the car was barely visible in foggy conditions earlier on tonight.
