Residents of Summerhouse – a specialist home in Freshwater for people with mental health difficulties – were treated to a trip on a power boat along the West Wight Coast last week.
Picked up from Yarmouth, 3 lucky residents headed off across the coast and around the Needles, some of the residents even getting the chance to steer the boat whilst it navigated the choppy waters.
1 resident told staff that taking the wheel brought back memories of when she had her own boat back in the 1980s.
A spokesperson from Summerhouse has said:
“This experience wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic charity WetWheels Solent, who are able to make power boating accessible to everyone”.
“We would like to thank WetWheels and Geoff Holt from the bottom of out hearts for giving our residents the best experience ever.”
