Staff and residents at Barchester’s Vecta House and Orchard House care home, both in Newport, celebrated Easter with a whole host of different activities including an Easter-themed coffee morning and an Easter egg hunt.
Residents at Vecta House enjoyed an eggs-tensive range of Easter activities, from Easter-themed art classes where residents made Easter chick decorations to their weekly coffee morning group where they enjoyed delicious hot cross buns while reminiscing about their Easter traditions.
Easter day residents received a yummy chocolate bunny from all the staff and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine with an Easter egg hunt in the garden
Residents also tucked in to a delicious Easter meal of roast lamb followed by Easter cake prepared by the home’s Chef Robert Pearce.
Harold, resident at Vecta House said:
“It has been so lovely to spend time with our families this Easter, though like every Easter, I think I’ve eaten too much chocolate! I really enjoyed the Easter egg hunt in the sunshine.”
Elsewhere in Newport at Fairlee Road’s Orchard House Care Home was delighted to welcome a special visitor just in time for Easter – the Easter bunny! Both the residents and staff had a wonderful time indulging in the festivities and enjoying the treats.
The care home was filled with joy and happiness as everyone celebrated the Easter holiday together. The Easter bunny brought smiles to everyone’s faces as they enjoyed delicious Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies.
