An afternoon of celebration was held at Orchard House Care Home in Newport on Friday 25th November as both staff and residents celebrated the home’s 30th anniversary.
Parent company, Barchester Healthcare, which runs Orchard House, started out in 1992 with just 1 care home, Moreton Hill, in Gloucestershire. Fast forward 30 years and Barchester is now the second-largest care home company in the UK with 250 care homes and private hospitals all over the country.
To celebrate, Orchard House threw open its doors last Friday (25th November) from 14:00 to 17:00 for a fantastic tea party with entertainment. There was also a sing-along for residents who got to listen to some of their all-time favourite songs. Drinks and high tea were also available for everyone to enjoy.
Kim Fleming General Manager at Orchard House Care Home said:
“It is wonderful to be part of such a fantastic company as Barchester. We had a fabulous time celebrating our 30th anniversary with all of our residents, their friends and families and our brilliant staff, it was such a lovely day. It was great to have so many people from the local community come and join us to help us celebrate 30 years of Barchester.”

They need to look at their leadership and nursing staff if they want to go on another thirty years!
I just read the interesting comment below. I have to admit things could be better here. It has high ratings on the surface however there are underlying issues with handing over information and relaying of it to other members of staff especially at weekends. Sadly that is when people suffer because of it.
