Red Funnel will host the Cowes Tour of Britain Fanzone on Sunday, helping cycling fans to follow the final Isle of Wight stage of the prestigious race in its entirety on the big screen.
The free-to-attend event will be located at The Lawn Bar at Northwood House, which will be open from 10:30–19:30 on Sunday 11th September.
This is a one-stop shop for everything Tour of Britain in the heart of Cowes. Soak up the party atmosphere with a drink, fill up on the delicious food on offer from Captain Pizza and enjoy the live music throughout the day, whilst you cheer on the UK’s top cyclists as they sprint through Cowes, and across the Isle of Wight towards the finish line.
Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said:
“We are extremely proud to be working with Northwood House and Cowes Town Council to bring all the action of such an exciting sporting event to residents and visitors to the Isle of Wight. We’ve been working alongside Island businesses to welcome the Tour of Britain to the Isle of Wight, and we’re delighted to help connect so many people with this beautiful island and all its natural beauty, alongside playing our part in bringing the UK’s leading cycling event to local residents and visitors on the Isle of Wight.”
The venue is just a short walk for spectators to watch the race from the roadside as the race passes through, for those wanting to experience the action. However, the Cowes Fanzone is one of the only places spectators can watch the Tour of Britain in real time from Cowes Green and Castle Hill. Visitors are guaranteed not to miss a thing.

That will be empty then, just use the same picture when it is open, it will look the same, no one attending. You will be hard pressed to find any islanders who actually want this, so stop speaking for us. Is the island a dictatorship now, oh I guess it might, what’s next will you be scanned when entering or leaving work.
Visitors to the island will probably make good use of this or attract the yuppies.
It’s a wonder Red Funnel not administrating a entrance fee as they don’t normally do any islanders a free turn , you can bet there in on the sales with hefty commission rate
I hope Northwood house takes the sales as it money well spent on the renovation work needed
