Class C drugs have been taken off the streets thanks to the work of the Police, who have been investigating drugs supply on the Isle of Wight.
A man was stopped and searched on Cross Street in Ryde on Wednesday morning, leading to a quantity of pills being seized. Then, further enquiries led to an address being searched in nearby George Street which resulted in further pills being seized.
Now, 37-year-old Simon Cant, of Church Road in Wootton, has been charged with possession of Class C drugs with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of Class C drugs.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Friday).
As part of this investigation, a 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class C drugs. She was subsequently released from custody but remains under investigation while enquiries continue.
