A pursuit carried out by Police ended with the wanted vehicle being dumped down a narrow footpath in Ryde earlier on tonight (Tuesday).
Response cops were involved in the chase of the red Suzuki Alto in and around the Oakfield area of Ryde at shortly before 20:30. It’s understood Police wanted to stop the vehicle for having no insurance.
It wasn’t long before the suspect car went off road and down a footpath running alongside Island Line, close to Slade Road.
Once off the beaten track the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene – but rather stupidly 1 of the wanted individuals dropped a debit card in the process.
Despite Police carrying out a search of the area, the driver and any passengers could not be located.
The car has since been seized.
