A Pub Quiz Evening at thein the Firkin Deck Restaurant & Bar has raised £200 for Wight Aviation Museum (WAM). The cheque was presented by Bob Simpson, Managing Director of Goddard’s Brewery. The quiz was organised by WAM volunteer David “Hobbit” Edwards and included a number of interesting and unusual rounds, including musical rounds with the songs ‘performed’ by David himself on a tuba. Helen Blake, Chairperson of Wight Aviation Museum, said:
“It was a fun filled evening attended by about 60 WAM volunteers and their family and friends! We are hoping to run these pub quizzes on a monthly basis, with the kind assistance of Goddards and the next one is planned for Thursday 6th June.”

I have known Dangerous Dave for over 20 years and am glad to hear that he is still about. He has had a lot of misfortune in his life since the good old Propeller days. Very happy to see he and Helen still doing good things, but I won’t be paying any “membership” fee to go into Goddards pub, even though Fuggle is the best ale on IoW.
