UPDATED @ 14:00 – A toy and doll museum in Brading along with 9 other properties have flooded overnight.
Emergency services were called to the scene surrounding the Lilliput shop and museum in the High Street shortly before 04:00 this morning after receiving a 999 call from property owners.
Two pumping appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service attended alongside Southern Water to pump the excess water from the properties and to stop the flooding.
It is believed a burst water pipe was to blame.
Crews left the scene at 05:25. The shop and museum remains closed today.
UPDATED @ 10:20 – 20 properties in the historic town remain without water this morning due to a burst valve, which engineers are currently replacing. Water should be restored at around lunchtime today.
UPDATED @ 1400 – Water has been restored to all properties in the area.
