UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are tackling a fire at Faulkner Lane, Sandown this lunchtime (Tuesday).
Two appliances from Ryde are attending the incident behind Floor Design, where an old portacabin is ablaze, sending black billowing smoke across the town.
The fire broke out at around 13:00.
Crews are currently using a main jet to tackle the flames and bring the incident under control.
UPDATE @ 13:40 – The fire, which is understood to have been caused by controlled burning catching quicker than anticipated, has been extinguished by firefighters.
No one has been injured in the incident.
Firefighters remain on scene damping down.
UPDATE @ 15:20 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have now stood down from the incident.
