An elderly woman has been involved in a single vehicle collision between Newport and Wootton this evening (Sunday).
Police are currently in attendance at Whiterails Road near to Butterfly World, where a Peugeot has hit a wall.
Island Echo is told that just 1 vehicle has been involved and recovery has been arranged.
The driver has not required any hospital treatment.
The road remains open under Police direction.
why put elderly woman why not put a woman had a accident
An elderly woman might of been worried of a collision with on coming traffic that is coming at at speed, maybe moved over to far left. Near side front axle or wishbone broke on impact. Police were on the scene very quick, and kept everything under control. traffic control etc. I hope that the Lady is not harmed, but she will be shaken up. Not a good start to Christmas for her. (yes i did see the nearside front tyre at 90 degree’s to the rest of the car).
This elderly lady is my neighbour, aged 80, and been reported several times for very dangerous driving. She should have been taken of the roads years ago.
just look over the year how many young and middle age drivers have crashed a lot more than the old. most island drivers are bad drivers
We may never know why ! Could have been an on coming car with BRIGHT HEADLIGHTS blinding her, or maybe some idiot with BLUE lights lit coming toward her and she veered out of the way thinking it was an emergency vehicle… one never knows eh ?
Island Echo – this story is a good example of how some people write some highly offensive and discriminatory comments, and they get published! I’ve had a number of comments removed now, on various different stories, that have NOT been offensive or discriminatory in any way! It does make me wonder how your editing process works!
