An Isle of Wight Police officer who was accused of using excessive force on a child has been cleared of gross misconduct but has received a written warning. PC Stuart Pearson, who has served with Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary for more than 15 years, attended a public misconduct hearing in Southampton this week in relation to an incident that occurred on 21st June 2022, as previously reported by Island Echo. It was alleged that the officer used excessive force on an 11-year-old boy as he attended the home address of the youth to complete a Community Resolution Order. It was said that this fell below the professional standard expected in relation to use of force and authority, respect and courtesy. However, the panel holding the misconduct hearing has ruled that the officer’s actions against the ‘naughty’ schoolboy, whose behaviour was described as ‘unpleasant’, were, in fact, justified. PC Pearson has been cleared of gross misconduct. Although cleared of gross misconduct, PC Pearson has received a written warning for breaching the professional standards of behaviour in respect of bending over the child and shouting at him. PC Pearson, who in 2017 was recognised with a victim satisfaction bronze award after receiving 6 or more positive pieces of feedback from victims of crime, has apologised for his actions.

It say he lent over and shouted at the child (true or not true) I wasn’t there but some kids need it, I’m going to sound old but I remember getting a clip around the head for being disrespectful to a police officer, children know that the cps will not prosecute a minor unless it is classed a serious so they just carry on regardless.
Kids will be kids but if there is not the fear off punishment they will carry on
Good the kid needed a good slap
the misconduct hearing has ruled that the officer’s actions against the ‘naughty’ schoolboy, whose behaviour was described as ‘unpleasant’, were, in fact, justified.
…
clearly the parents were looking for a payout on some trumped up BS allegation.
what was the written warning for? so he keeps his job and keeps been allowed to bully other kids!!!!
And the problem is?
you like bullying little kids, weirdo
Most are little shits now and you know it..
Cleared but then get a written warning for shouting at some little oik, what is happening?
Ahh bless, did the poor little mite get shouted at by the nasty policeman?
Common sense prevails in the world of woke.
What a waste of public money and stress to a long standing officer. Parents obviously can’t control their kid at 11yrs or police wouldn’t needed to be there in first place. Now this kid will go on with his behaviour and police or others will be reluctant to discipline him .
Won’t be long and he’ll be up for robbery like that 16 yr old recently…
I bet the 11 year old is a little ‘gob shite’ and deserved everything he got.
No small doubt we will all be reading about its life on here in a few short years, and it will be ‘fathering’ an even worse cretin as soon a puberty hits, to ensure the misery doesn’t end with it’s own generation.
People should be WORSE off, not better off having unwanted children, only born due to ignorance and KNOWING that the parent will be ‘better off’ if emptying it’s womb, then removing the ‘unemployed slob’ label and becoming a ‘Muvver’ instead and never having to work again if the ‘next’ womb drop is timed right.
Rotten fruit rarely rolls far from the tree
Porky Blunders! Sorry…
Common sense prevails and why was this ever brought to a hearing. A complete waste of time and tax payers money.
Clearly this kid has the makings of an wrongun and the parents need to take accountability for his behaviour.
Thoughts are with the officer and his family, who have probably gone through considerable stress and strain over the last 18 or so months. They are the real victims in all of this.
