Yesterday’s blaze in Wroxall, which at its height had over 30 firefighters tackling the flames, is being treated as suspected arson by Hampshire Constabulary.
A joint investigation involving the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Police was launched at 09:00 this morning (Thursday) looking into the cause of the fire, which has destroyed at least 3 buildings off Castle Road.
Police are currently treating the blaze as suspected arson, although no arrests have been made.
Crews from across the Island were involved in the firefighting efforts and remained on scene overnight, with one appliance from Ventnor and the aerial ladder platform from Ryde on scene this morning.
