Police, fire and ambulance crews have been called to an unknown emergency on the Esplanade in Ryde this afternoon (Monday).
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were mobilised to the scene in the town centre, alongside paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, at around 16:15.
Shortly after, 3 fire appliances – including the Aerial Ladder Platform from Ryde – were also called to the scene.
Police officers and firefighters are focusing on a property above Arcadia Amusements, with blue-gloved officers seen leaving the property with small evidence bags.
There are no immediate signs of fire.
UPDATE @ 17:00 – Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that they were called at 15:59 to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman in a flat.
Officers have attended to assist and the woman is now safe.
The casualty, seen covered in blood, has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
All involved emergency service personnel have now left the scene.

What was the lady doing that might have needed three pump appliances?
And why did it take 9 hours for the Fire Brigade to attend (admittedly, in massive force) at Birmingham Road Methodist Church Saturday evening? Could it have been that everybody who tried to phone 101 to report the alarm could not get a reply? The service is a joke.
It’s a none story really, no-one knows anything at this stage, that why we are voted down because others have no realistic comments….it’s an island thing…

Blue gloves? It is a mystery. You only have to fart and follow through to get the whole services and a mention on here! That’s just goes to show it’s not as mental as the mainland for incidents I guess?
Do real emergencies get the same response like heart attacks and other medical emergencies. I know people have waited a long time in some cases.
If it’s going to be advertised at least say what’s happening, news is news not a mystery quiz!!
there was a small RTA yesterday evening in wootton (no mention on IE),. car hit a sign post.
5 or 6 police cars / vans… seeming dozens of officers, 1 paramedic car, 1 ambulance….
why so much ??
I think as soon as there’s a mention of something happening,.. all of the police on duty rush there (under blue lights) to see if they can get in on the excitement…
Alll of you are wrong with your opinions you don’t know what’s gone on I’ll make it clear it was a mental health issues and that is just as serious as anything else it’s best not to judge unless you know the full story and they can’t expose the person because of it that’s why all of you have got half a story
