The Phoenix Choir were given a very warm welcome when after 6 years they returned to St Helen’s Church on Saturday 27th May to perform their second concert of the season.
It was a beautiful evening and there was a very enthusiastic near capacity audience. They were entertained with a wide variety of songs including ‘The Circle of Life’, ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Cheek To Cheek.
There were also 5 soloists; Sandra Aldridge with ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’, Pat Attrill with ‘Sweet Dreams’, John Normanton with ‘Mansions Of The Lord’, Ian Attrill with ‘Georgia On My Mind’ and Elizabeth Habens with ‘Waltz Of My Heart’.
The evening raised at least £1,100 for the St Helen’s Church Kids’ Shed Appeal.
The Phoenix Choir’s next concert will be at St Saviour’s Church, Totland Bay on Saturday 1st July at 7.30pm.
