The Phoenix Choir’s concert on Saturday 1st July took place at St Saviour’s Church in Totland to help raise funds for the church’s forthcoming centenary celebrations in August.
The enthusiastic audience were entertained with a programme ranging from “The Trolley Song” to “The Circle of Life”.
The soloists were Sandra Aldridge singing “Hopelessly Devoted To You”, Ian Attrill with “I Can’t Stop Loving You”, Alistair Drain singing “I’ll See You In My Dreams” and accompanying himself on ukulele, and Elizabeth Habens singing “Some Day My Heart Will Awake”.
There was also a 1st for the Phoenix Choir with a male duet – “Perhaps Love” – performed by John Normanton and Paul Stevens.
The evening raised £730.
The next opportunity to see the Phoenix Choir will be at All Saints Church in Ryde on Saturday 5th August at 19:30.
