A Peugeot driver, who failed to stop for Police, was chased through a Shanklin pub before being arrested earlier this evening (Saturday).
It was earlier this evening that a blue Peugeot 208 caught the attention of the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) in the Bay.
When asked to stop however the driver made off before dumping the vehicle near Shanklin Old Village. Officers gave foot pursuit through a local public house before they apprehended the individual nearby.
Police have confirmed that the driver has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving whilst disqualified.

Well done catching this lawless Numpty,
but unless these persons are banged up,
they seem to keep driving wrecklessly even
though they are disqualified!
Tougher sentencing is needed!!
Surely your numpties don’t drive wrecklessly, EIE; they cause wrecks by driving without reck, or as the rest of us say, recklessly.
Why do these culprits bother to run? All they will receive is a slap on the wrist from an ineffective justice system that has few deterrents.
I feel sorry for the Police they do the hard work and
then the culprits get let off.
