PEDESTRIAN SUFFERS ‘SERIOUS INJURIES’ AFTER BEING HIT BY CAR IN CARISBROOKE

 A woman has sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car in Carisbrooke.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Wellington Road, near the junction with Hinton Road, shortly before midday when the pedestrian was knocked down by a Mercedes.

The individual has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary has said:

“We were called at 11.54am with reports of a collision on Wellington Road, Newport, involving a Mercedes and a pedestrian.

‘The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries”.
