UPDATED: A pedestrian has been knocked down by a car on the pedestrian crossing at St George’s Way near Furlongs in Newport this morning (Wednesday).
Police and paramedics are currently in attendance at the scene near to KFC, where it is understood a male has sustained injuries.
The road has been closed.
UPDATE @ 11:45 – One male has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance with serious but not life-threatening injuries, thought to be a broken leg.
The road has now reopened, however traffic remains heavy in the area.
