Isle of Wight bodybuilder Pearl Dobson has turned professional after winning the United Kingdom Ultimate Physiques (UKUP) Northern Championships in Warrington.
Pearl won in the over-35s Bikini Athletic Class category, which requires a greater muscle mass and condition than the standard bikini class.
Mrs Dobson also won the Open Bikini Athletic against all ages and sizes.
Pearl’s trainer Lance Griffiths says:
“The UKUP northern champs was the last show of the early season, and we decided that we would just go and have some fun.
“Not only did Pearl win the over-35 Bikini Athletic Class, but she also won the open Bikini Athletic Class.
“The UKUP awarded her with her Pro Card. She can now compete as a professional athlete not just in the UK but all over the world All this and within under 5 months from first stepping on stage for the 1st time.
“To say she is humble is an understatement. She realises how lucky she is and wants to use her success to promote the sport of ladies’ bodybuilding as a profession, not just on the island but abroad as well.”
Pearl has chosen to support the MND charity and raise money for a personal friend who suffers from this horrendous disease. Her JustGiving page is now part of Pearl’s website pearlybodybuilding.com, where others can get advice and support with regard to training, nutrition and a well-balanced lifestyle
