Cross-Solent operator Wightlink has cancelled 16 FastCat sailings tomorrow (Saturday) as a result of essential maintenance.
As a result of the issues, Wight Ryder 2 will be maintaining the hourly service throughout the day.
The 10:45, 11:45, 12:45, 13:45, 14:45, 15:45, 16:45 & 17:45 from Portsmouth Harbour and the 11:15, 12:15, 13:15, 14:15, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15 & 18:15 from Ryde Pier have been cancelled.
A Wightlink spokesperson has said:
“If you’ve booked to travel on this route and would like to sail earlier or later than planned, you can simply arrive at the port and our team will be happy to check you in for the sailing of your choice. You don’t need to amend or change your booking.
“We apologise sincerely for any changes to your travel plans and thank you for your understanding and support during this time.”

Totally , totally unacceptable. Friday weekend school holidays.
Come on . Get your act together you charge enough.
I remember one time 4 sailings a day reduced to 3 now 2 and when emergencies hit like this we are completely isolated and cut off.
No excuses whatsoever .
The slow cats are at it again.
Extend the length of Ryde Pier to Pompey
have an opening in the middle so ships can
go through at times.
Who needs Ferries, just drive across the Pier
from Ryde to Pompey.
Lol
What a disgrace it has all become now.
Every day its either the FastCat, the Ferries or the Floating Bridge or all of them that is being “maintained “or cancelled for one excuse or another.
Who is ultimately responsible for this chaos that we endure on this Island due to the mismanagement of running these services.
People here have no other choice or option but have to rely on this service for Hospital appointments, work, travel, school, collage, etc.
The island services are a joke.
