Cordons were erected in a West Wight village earlier today (Friday) after the discovery of some unexploded ordnance.
Police were first called to the scene at around 10:45 after receiving a report of a piece of unexploded ordnance at an address in Wellow.
Several resources from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, as well as Royal Navy Bomb Disposal, teams were called to the scene, with Police erecting a cordon and blocking the road.
Island Echo understands that all those present have since left the scene with a controlled explosion set to take place.
