A medical emergency in the South Wight saw the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance scrambled to Bonchurch this morning (Friday). The helicopter made the journey south, circling the skies above the village, before landing in the local area at around 08:55. Several resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, including an ambulance and Critical Care Paramedic, were tending to a male at an address on the now fully-reopened Leeson Road. Despite their arrival, the incident turned out to be less severe than first thought, with flying doctors quickly returning to the helicopter and taking off after just 10 minutes on the ground. The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance returned to base at Thruxton at around 09:30.

Once again, a massive waste of money calling out for the Air Ambulance to the IOW. Why dont the medical staff on the IOW tend to the patient first before even thinking of wasting big money on the Air Ambulance. It hapens all the time, such a waste of money.
