Immigration officials were on the Isle of Wight yesterday (Thursday), but their visits to premises in Cowes and Ventnor didn’t result in any arrests.
Officers first visited an address on Newport Road, Cowes at 14:30 yesterday afternoon. A search of the property was carried out but no arrests were made and no further action was taken.
The same could be said of a visit on the other side of the Island in Ventnor.
Both visits were as a result of intelligence given to the Home Office.
Immigration Enforcement is an operational directorate within the Home Office responsible for enforcing immigration law and uses the full force of the law to tackle illegal migration including targeted enforcement operations across the UK.
